Small and Beautiful . . . . .

There’s nothing more frustrating than finding your dream vintage dress only to find that it’s a size too small (or more). Here are some examples of recent listings that were just way too small for words. We have very carefully carried out some adjustments, being careful not to ruin the lines of the original design. If in doubt, always contact the seller to see if there’s adequate side seam allowance and contact a professional for advice.

Satin wiggle dress c.1960s

This was originally a UK 6 (US 2) and altered to a slightly larger UK 8 (US 4)

St Michael House Dress c.1950s

This dress had a tiny waist and a hole on the left skirt panel - not any more!

Gold satin swirl dress c.1950s

This dress had a tiny waist and an unpleasant odour. We have carefully cleaned and increased the waist measurement. It's now a much more wearable UK size 10 - and smells beautiful too!
