The runway had lots of unique necklines but the most favored would be the illusion style, in which a sheer, delicate, and often embellished layer of fabric veils skin that would otherwise be exposed. (Think of illusion as “strapless, with coverage)it transform a sassy look situation into something soft, elegant, and romantic. Most illusion dresses comprise a bodice made of sheer material giving the illusion of no bodice or bear skin.
Want to wear pants or a slit up to there (two of the freshest innovations on the recent bridal runways) or a boho halo in lieu of a veil (totally Hawaiian)? Now a bride can. Some of the biggest trends in bridal fashion for the coming year include lace sleeves (call it the Kate effect) and high-low hemlines. Many celebrity brides wore sleeves. So it’s no surprise that many designers have embraced the trend in their latest collections.
While we’ve not added the long with the train gown to our Hula Hut store (we will soon, I promise) we have a nice selection of less formal dresses for the bride wishing for a less tradition long gown, and a tad more relaxed look. Also the shorter dress is favored by many brides who are taking the plunge a second time around. While white is the traditional favorite any pastel color can be used. Enjoy our visual bridal runway from The Hula Hut and More Store.
This dress is full length and exhibits the true meaning of “illusion”. More formal, and has a heavy beaded and sequin accent to the bandeau looking top and the top of the skirt. From Cassandra Stone.
I’m particularly fond of this look, and while being quite elaborate still maintains a elegance to it with the candlelight cream color with just a whisper of pink from Phylicia.
If simplicity is your choice, but you still want elegance and a hint romance then this just may be the dress for you From Laura Ashley.
A two piece outfit may be your choice. This Oleg Cassini two piece dress & jacket in a white jacquard with lace up back & sleeves. Dress is mini length with a fitted jacket.
No matter what your choice is, you’ll be the center of attention on your special day! Check our store out for lots of variety in vintage clothing. Mahlo!
